Commercial support can fund ambitious work. It cannot purchase editorial judgment, hidden influence or personal data without consent.

Commercial colleagues may explain a partner’s market, programme and factual product information, but they cannot require coverage or suppress critical reporting.
Paid placements are labelled with terms such as “Advertisement”, “Sponsored”, “Partner content” or “Sponsored research”. The label appears where the audience encounters the material, not only in a distant disclosure.
Sponsors may fund independent research, propose questions and review factual descriptions of their organisation. TalkAbout controls the methodology, fieldwork, analysis and conclusions. Uncomfortable findings are not removed to protect a commercial relationship.
At events, commercial partners may support the programme or participate in clearly described sessions. Editorial moderators retain control of the discussion and attendee lists are not transferred without a disclosed lawful basis.
We may invite a reader to share details to access a report, attend an event or speak with a named partner. The form states who will receive the information and why before submission.
We may provide partners with aggregated performance and audience insights that do not identify individuals. Personal information is not sold, and viewing an advertisement or sponsored page does not by itself authorise us to share contact details.
We may reject or remove advertising that is unlawful, misleading, unsafe, discriminatory, technically harmful, inconsistent with our audience or likely to damage trust in the TalkAbout brand. Acceptance does not mean endorsement.
Readers can question a label or commercial relationship through the standards desk. Partners can use the Partner Center to understand the formats available within these safeguards.
